The best time to visit Haridwar is from October to March.

  • Winter (October to March): Winter is considered the best season to visit, as the weather is cool and comfortable, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C. The pleasant climate makes it ideal for sightseeing and participating in the evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri.
  • Summer (April to June): Summers can be quite hot, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C, making it less comfortable. However, many pilgrims still visit during this time to attend festivals like Ram Navami.
  • Monsoon (July to September): Haridwar receives moderate rainfall, which makes the Ganges flow more vigorously. Although the rain enhances the greenery, it may limit outdoor activities due to high humidity and occasional road conditions.

  1. By Air: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 35 km from Haridwar. The airport has regular flights connecting it to major cities like Delhi. From the airport, taxis and buses are available to reach Haridwar.
  2. By Train: Haridwar Junction Railway Station is well-connected to major cities across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi. There are frequent trains from Delhi, such as the Shatabdi Express and Jan Shatabdi, making it a convenient mode of travel.
  3. By Road: Haridwar is well-connected by road to nearby cities like Delhi (around 220 km), Dehradun (52 km), and Rishikesh (20 km). National and state highways link Haridwar to these destinations, and regular buses run from major cities. Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) and private buses provide frequent services.
